On February 28 of this year, a meeting of the Committee on Women and Gender Equality was held. It reviewed the report of the Commissioner for Human Rights on activities in 2023.

In our country, measures are being implemented in the name of human honor and dignity, full protection of the rights and freedoms of women, children, the elderly and the disabled.

Thus, on a systematic basis, reforms are continuing in the field of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of women, increasing their political, economic and social activity, health care, vocational training and employment, broad involvement in entrepreneurship, social support for women in need, and ensuring gender equality.

An analysis of the appeals received by the Ombudsman concerning the protection of women's rights and freedoms shows that the annual decrease in the number of appeals received from women in the social sphere is the result of large-scale reforms carried out in our country, the adoption of normative legal acts guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of women, and ensuring their implementation.

At the same time, the importance of intensifying work together with relevant departments and organizations in order to find a positive solution to the pressing issues raised in the appeals of the population was emphasized. At the end of the meeting, the senators made suggestions and recommendations aimed at further improving the activities of the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman). At the end of the meeting, the relevant decision of the Committee was made on the issue under consideration.
