On February 6 of this year, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Women and Gender Equality of the Oliy Majlis, M. Kadirkhanova, held a meeting with J.Bijio, the Senior coordinator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), on gender equality and women's empowerment.

The meeting discussed relations between Uzbekistan and the United States, including issues of cooperation with USAID in support of women.It should be noted that a number of projects are being implemented jointly with USAID to ensure gender equality and increase women's socio-political activity.

The American side highly appreciated the work carried out in Uzbekistan to protect the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of women and children.At the same time, the guests expressed their willingness to cooperate closely in the implementation of the Strategy for Achieving Gender Equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030.

During the conversation, the sides also exchanged views on joint future plans and ongoing international events.
