On February 6 of this year, the draft State program for the implementation of the Strategy "Uzbekistan – 2030" in the "Year of support for Youth and Business" was discussed by the Committee on Women and Gender Equality of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.

The meeting was attended by members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Committee experts, senior officials of ministries and departments, experts from the Center for Development Strategies, representatives of NGOs, as well as chairmen of the standing committees of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional, district and city Councils of People's Deputies on youth policy, women and gender equality.

The 25th task of the State Program "Creating decent conditions for realizing the potential of every person" defines practical measures aimed at strengthening the support system for women, ensuring their rights and legitimate interests, increasing the social, economic, political activity of women and ensuring gender equality.In particular, it provides for the protection of women from various forms of harassment and violence, the promotion of women's employment through training in competitive professions on the labor market, as well as the development of women's entrepreneurship.

During the discussion of the draft State Program, the Committee members emphasized that in recent years the country has consistently implemented a state policy aimed at achieving equal rights and opportunities for women and men, and the tasks reflected in the draft are a logical continuation of the ongoing reforms in this direction.At the same time, the need to strengthen the activities of public authorities and public organizations in the implementation of the tasks reflected in the program was emphasized.

During the discussions, a number of proposals were put forward based on the tasks of the Committee, which are planned to be included in the draft.
